If a vehicle has to be 25 years old or less at trade in, then why is 1995 the oldest year of vehicle that you can choose? Why are Blazers not listed?

Hi Teresa, you can still choose the earliest year possible to submit your information, we need to fix the program to incorporate more aged vehicles. thanks.

mostly like yes, but the safest way to do is to fill out a Trade-in form so that the participating dealer will reserve the rebate for you.

I had to deinsure my truck while I waited to get it fixed, around Christmas time. I reinsured it with the same company in April, 09. I seem to be about the only person who badly needs this assistance who’s getting burned by the poorly written rules. I’ve had the truck for 10 years and it has 275,000 miles on it. Just because I was smart enough to not pay insurance while it was not running I will not be able to use the voucher. This has me very upset because the truck is dying more every day now. I feel really ripped off that I will pay everyone else to do this and get nothing.

In order to get an estimate on a vehicle older than you list, on a site that requires our SSN, was tagged as being a place unsecure for personal information. I’ve just spent the day calling a lot of places because I just learned that I’m a victim of identity theft, Reeeeaaally makes me feel secure trying to see how this would work for me.

My husband and I would like to purchase an Altima Hybrid. Only the regular Altima is listed on the drop down. The Hybrid gets much better mileage which makes me think we could qualify for the full $4500, instead of the $3,500 the system showed based on the regular Altima.

ok so if i trade in my 1999 dodge durango that gets 13mpg do i have to buy a 2010 model vehicle or can i purchase a 2008 or 09? because im a collge student and $4500 still will not help me enough to buy a $15,500 2010 vehicle.

I traded a 2001 Oldsmobile Bravada for a new 2009 Honda Element around the end of May. Does the bill cover purchases made prior to the bill being signed?

We have owned a 1998 Olds Intrigue for 11 years–recently put it in 16 year old son’s name (wise move per insurance agent) but does this now disqualify us from the clunker law benefits because we will be the buyers of the new car (son has no $$) but he will have to turn in the deed/registration.

Do 2009 program vehicles qualify?
-
I have a 1981 Ford F-150 that I wanted to trade in. How come this ends at 25 years? If you truely want people to turn in their “clunkers,” then you shouldn’t limit the age- as long as they are in working condition and are still registered and on the road!

Well, This is another opportunity for the federal government to give more my tax dollars to the parasites that suck from the hard working taxpayers. I don’t drive a $500. P.O.S. Car My clunker has Value. Blue book of $5500.00 But gets 13 MPG So this Cash for clunkers Is not geared to Do away with Gas guzzlers. Its a Program Geared to once again GIVE “Losers” Loser Term = Someone whom Based on there decisions in life have found them In a non-enriched Condition. A Hand out of $4500. Rewarding them for there poor planning and decisions. At the expense of the working class. Bail-out is a Sell out OF Americans. You want to help? Give everyone who paid Taxes Every Dollar that you took from us in the past 5 years. I’m sure I could Buy 2 New cars with that. Otherwise I will just wait for the Scumbag who gets there new car with this Auto Welfare Voucher has it REPOSSESSED. See you can’t fix a problem with the same mind set that created the problem.
